As the holiday season approaches and in time with Ayala Land’s 35th Anniversary, Makati is delighted to present an array of Christmas initiatives that will ignite the spirit of the season in every corner of the vibrant city. Makati will be transformed into an enchanting wonderland, filled with cheer, warmth, and the magic of the holidays. Kicking off the festivities is the ceremonial lighting of Ayala Avenue, a cherished tradition spanning back to the 1960s. Year after year, families come together to marvel at the 1.9-kilometer stretch of Ayala Avenue, adorned with festive decorations that captivate the hearts of both young and old。
This year’s Ayala Avenue Christmas decorations feature the illuminated wreath, which is a symbol of unity and growth, infusing the MCBD with a renewed sense of vibrancy.
Crafted by one of the most sought-after designers, Zenas Pineda, the decorations pay homage to cherished Filipino traditions, symbolizing hope and optimism for the future. Local heritage takes center stage as ornaments commonly found in Filipino homes during the holiday season, such as parols, stars, and capiz-adorned lights, grace the Makati Central Business District. In alignment with Ayala Land's commitment to sustainability, a significant portion of these decorations is recycled from previous years, including the spectacular giant parols。
This year’s Ayala Avenue Christmas decors are recycled as in the past 4 years in keeping with Ayala Land’s sustainability thrust. A new element added is the illuminated wreath, which symbolizes unity and growth, infusing the MCBD with a renewed sense of vibrancy. It was unveiled by (L-R) Laurent Lamasuta, President of Ayala Property Management Corporation; Mariana Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Land Inc. Senior Vice President and Leasing and Hospitality Group Head; Robert Lao, Senior Vice President and Group Head of Ayala Land Estates, also representing MACEA; Hon. Luis Campos, Second District Representative, Congressman of Makati; Hon. Monique Lagdameo, Vice Mayor of Makati; Meean Dy, President and CEO of Ayala Land; Mel Ignacio, Senior Estate Head of Makati, Ayala Land Estates; Dindo Fernando, Head of External Affairs of Ayala Land.
Elevating this year’s display, the city sparkles with an additional element, infusing it with a renewed sense of vibrancy – the illuminated wreath. Symbolizing unity and growth, these wreaths will add an extra layer of sparkle to the avenue and create an even more festive atmosphere. The decorations will be lit up on November 7, 2023 and will be on display until January 14, 2024.
Ayala Land's ongoing commitment to creating vibrant and memorable experiences for the community continues to shine through. Makati welcomes everyone to explore the city where Christmas happens first, where the festive spirit comes to life before anywhere else, filling the streets with joy, warmth, and enchantment。
